Non-conventional beer and cider microbiome uncovered


In a collaborative project with the Institute of Gene Biology, ITMO University, NRC “Kurchatov Institute” and FRC of Biotechnology, the Knomics-Biota platform was used to explore the 16S rRNA and ITS profiles of a representative collection of spontaneous and mixed fermentation beers and ciders produced by the Russia breweries. The microbial profiles were compared with the information on styles and metabolomics.
